Dr Uthpala Pinto

Science Team – Science Project Officer

Uthpala (known as Pinto) has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Western Sydney prior to joining the GHHP. Pinto’s research interests are in human interactions with rivers, river health, catchment and wetland health, tools for predicting and monitoring water quality and soil quality, adaptive management strategies for water cycle management, community aspects of water resources and reuse of water.

Pinto has developed tools and a framework to assess river health considering the competing and conflicting land use and water management issues in peri-urban landscape which ultimately improved management decisions.
